Holiday Open House

What a weekend! The big Holiday Open House is past us now, and we're still recuperating.  Thursday night was the special "VIP" night.  This event gave a small group of people the opportunity to see the Design House beautifully lit at night, with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and most importantly uncrowded shopping!  All proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to the Special Olympics.  Jennifer and I were still pricing and fluffing Thursday afternoon (planning to work late into the evening), when Suzanne mentioned that we could open that evening, too.  We looked at each other, looked down at our clothes, and launched into a match of "not me, - you"! I drew the short straw and spun into action. There was no way to make it home and back in time, so I grabbed some boots off a display, stole a jacket from the Design House, clipped up my hair and applied a heavy coat of makeup (we'd been working weeks straight on the Curiosities barn, so there were a lot of under-eye bags to cover up!) I opened the doors just in time and welcomed a small but wonderful group of customers who were very kind and complimentary.  It was a lovely evening benefiting a very good cause and we were so happy to be a part of it.  The rest of the weekend flew by - we had tons of folks come out, and everyone was so patient with the crowds and our ineptness with our new cash register, hahaha!

 The outside of the barn:

I love these teal arched shutters that we found on my birthday road trip:

We found this amazing framed Jesus print on another road trip, and the little saint under the dome.

Wasn't this chair stunning upholstered in Brunschwig & Fils fabric?  We knew it wouldn't last long!

Hand glittered trees on the secretary, and hand glittered ornaments on the tree!

My friends always ask if it's hard to sell the items that we search so hard for.  In the case of this industrial flat file cabinet, yes!! It would be so perfect for a flat screen TV!

This incredible brass floor lamp sold as well.  It was hard to part with, too!

 Antique Infant of Prague:

 He looks like he's smiling!:

Winter tablescape:

 A drawer full of Milagros:

We sold out of these golden wings:

Beautiful linen stockings:

Pine cone wreaths:

Jennifer's beautiful hand made jewelry collection:

We'll be open again Thanksgiving weekend, Nov 28, 29 & 30th.  Come out and see us!
